Mhaven 2027: From Vision to Action

Join us March 24-25, 2027 for this two-day community event that will bring together people working across gender-based violence (GBV) and intimate partner violence (IPV) research, prevention, response, support, and recovery.

March 24-25, 2027

Overview

The event marks the culmination of the two-year Mhaven initiative, which is working to co-create Canada’s first mental health-led hub dedicated to IPV and GBV. Grounded in lived experience, co-research, mental health, innovation, and partnership, Mhaven brings multiple sectors together to develop new approaches to care, strengthen pathways to support, and improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Mhaven 2027: From Vision to Action is not your traditional academic conference. It is an opportunity for the broader GBV/IPV community to come together, share knowledge, build connections, and learn from one another. The program will include keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, poster and lightening talk sessions, networking opportunities, wellness activities, and creative knowledge exchange.

Attendees will include community organizations, policy leaders, clinicians and mental health professionals, people with lived experience, educators, researcher sand others working to strengthen responses to GBV and IPV.

Call for Abstracts!

If your work relates to GBV and/or IPV, we invite you to submit an abstract of up to 300 words for consideration.

Submission deadline: October 31, 2026

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid-December, 2026.
