“Everyone has a role to play in ending gender-based violence and fostering healthy, safe, and equitable relationships.”
About This Resource
The Gender-Based Violence Prevention Framework provides a roadmap for preventing gender-based violence (GBV).
The project, which aimed to improve local public health programs by focusing on gender-based violence prevention, is a joint effort between Thunder Bay District Health Unit, KFL&A Public Health and Lakehead University.
The Gender-Based Violence Prevention Framework provides guidance for the following:
- To gain an understanding of the factors that cause gender-based violence exposures and unequal outcomes.
- To specify preventable measures to build safe, equitable relationships and reduce negative consequences for those affected.
- To establish the boundaries and responsibilities for local public health agencies in preventing gender-based violence.
- To find effective, long-term methods for putting this framework into practice.
